PVP VA64 Cosmetic Grade – Humidity-Resistant Film Former for Hair Sprays & Long-Wear Cosmetics

Premium PVP VA64 Cosmetic Grade – K-value 27.0–33.0%. A humidity-resistant alcohol-soluble copolymer for hair sprays, long-wearing cosmetics, and pharmaceutical film coating formulations.

PVP VA64 (Polyvinylpyrrolidone-co-vinyl acetate 64) is a cosmetic-grade copolymer with a K-value of 27.0–33.0% and a pH value in water of 3–7. A copolymer of vinylpyrrolidone and vinyl acetate in a 60:40 ratio, PVP VA64 offers a distinctive combination of the water-solubility of PVP with the improved moisture resistance and alcohol solubility from the vinyl acetate component — making it the preferred film-forming polymer for alcohol-based hair sprays and humidity-resistant styling formulations where standard PVP would absorb atmospheric moisture and lose hold.

Applications:

  • Hair Styling (alcohol-based hair sprays, humidity-resistant styling formulations, mousse)
  • Cosmetics (long-wearing and waterproof cosmetic film-formers, nail formulations)
  • Personal Care (skin-adhesive formulations, antiperspirant sticks, deodorants)
  • Pharmaceutical (film coatings for tablets, controlled-release formulation systems)

Key Features & Benefits:

  • K-value 27.0–33.0%, pH 3–7 – cosmetic grade PVP/VA copolymer
  • Superior humidity resistance compared to standard PVP homopolymer
  • Soluble in alcohol — ideal for aerosol and pump spray formulations
  • Good hold with improved flexibility and natural feel compared to PVP K-90
  • Preferred for premium humidity-resistant hair spray formulations
