HepaAegis®: what the brand name refers to
HepaAegis® is a registered trade name for one defined extract of Antrodia cinnamomea, a fungus native to Taiwan. The name identifies a specific branded ingredient, not the species in general. Antrodia extracts from different makers are not interchangeable simply because the species matches.
FC Materials, based in Penang, Malaysia, supplies HepaAegis® from a global partner. FC does not manufacture it. The main resource for the brand is the HepaAegis® branded ingredient page.
What the brand defines
A branded ingredient usually comes with a fixed process, a set specification and a ready document pack. The FC HepaAegis® product page states that it uses a combination of hot-water and alcohol extracts and is standardised for consistency. The product page describes it as positioned for liver health and hepatic wellness concepts, and for lipid-metabolism formulations.
How to buy HepaAegis®
- Read the branded ingredient page and the product page for positioning and background.
- Ask FC for the current specification sheet and a recent COA.
- Request a sample for your own trial batches.
- Send your volumes and target markets through the request a quote page.
Using the name on your label
Many brands want to show an ingredient trade name on pack. Ask whether co-branding is allowed, whether logo artwork is available and how the ® mark should appear. Any trade-name use still sits inside the claim rules of your market.
Formulation notes
Confirm with FC which formats the extract has been used in, such as capsules, tablets or powder blends. Run your own blend and fill trials, and check flow and moisture pick-up before scale-up.
What to ask your supplier
- A letter confirming that the material is genuine HepaAegis® from the brand owner.
- Trademark usage guidelines for packs and marketing.
- Batch COAs showing identity, the brand's marker compounds and their assay methods.
- Results for heavy metals, pesticide residues, microbiology and residual solvents.
- Halal, allergen and GMO statements, plus storage guidance.
