Gotu Kola Extract (10:1) is a concentrated botanical extract derived from the aerial parts of Centella asiatica, a highly valued herb in Ayurvedic, TCM, and Southeast Asian traditional medicine. At a 10:1 concentration ratio, this Halal-certified extract provides a potent dose of asiaticoside, madecassoside, and asiatic acid — the triterpenoid saponins responsible for gotu kola’s cognitive enhancement, wound healing, anti-anxiety, and skin regeneration properties.
Gotu Kola (Pegaga in Malay) is deeply familiar to Malaysian consumers and has gained significant global traction in both the nutraceutical and cosmeceutical industries.

Four triterpenes define the quality
The main actives of gotu kola (Centella asiatica) are four triterpenes: asiaticoside, madecassoside, asiatic acid and madecassic acid. Their levels vary widely with origin, growing conditions and harvest. A 10:1 ratio does not state them, so ask for total triterpenes, or each of the four, by HPLC.
Study extracts are often defined mixtures
Many skin and circulation studies used a titrated extract of Centella asiatica (TECA), a defined mix of these triterpenes, or purified madecassoside. Results from those materials cannot be transferred directly to a whole-herb 10:1 extract. Match the extract to the evidence and to the claim you plan to make.
Contaminants and safety
Centella grows in wet soils and can take up heavy metals, so check heavy metals on every lot. Rare cases of liver injury have been reported with gotu kola products. In cognitive formulas it is often paired with Bacopa Extract and Ginkgo Biloba Extract.
