Hawthorn is the most widely studied botanical for cardiovascular support, with clinical evidence for improved cardiac output, reduced peripheral vascular resistance, and antioxidant protection of the myocardium.

Whole berry powder, not an extract

Hawthornberry powder is the dried, milled fruit of Crataegus monogyna or C. laevigata. It contains the whole fruit matrix: fibre, pectin, organic acids and natural sugars alongside procyanidins and flavonoids. Its marker content is lower and more variable than that of a standardised extract, so it suits food and tonic formats more than dose-defined capsules.

Berry versus leaf-and-flower evidence

Most clinical studies on hawthorn used leaf-and-flower extracts, not berry powder. If you plan to refer to published research in your product story, check which plant part and preparation the studies used. For a concentrated option, see Hawthorn Berry Extract.

Formulation notes

The powder is tart and slightly astringent and works in drink mixes, teas, gummies and fruit-based blends. Fruit powders with natural sugars and pectin can cake in humid conditions, so check moisture and keep packs sealed.
