Not every “kwao krua” is Butea
In Thailand, several unrelated plants are sold under the name kwao krua, including red kwao krua (Butea superba) and white kwao krua (Pueraria mirifica). They have different chemistry and are not interchangeable. State the Latin name and the plant part (tuberous root) on the specification and the COA.
What a 10:1 ratio tells you
The constituents usually reported for Butea superba root are flavonoids and flavonoid glycosides. A 10:1 ratio does not state how much of them the extract contains. Ask the supplier which marker, if any, is tested and by which method, and request an identity test that separates it from the other kwao krua plants.
