NeurOasis® is designed for supplement and functional food brands developing products around focus, mental clarity, cognitive wellness, and healthy aging. This ingredient is especially relevant for brands targeting students, professionals, older adults, and consumers seeking natural cognitive wellness support.
Key Positioning
- Branded Lion’s Mane ingredient
- Positioned for cognitive support and brain-health concepts
- Suitable for focus, clarity, memory, and healthy-aging supplement lines
- Useful for capsules, tablets, powder blends, sachets, and beverages
- Premium alternative to generic Lion’s Mane extract
Fruiting body or mycelium
NeurOasis® is based on lion’s mane (Hericium erinaceus). The part of the mushroom used matters: the fruiting body contains compounds called hericenones, while the mycelium contains erinacines. Products made from mycelium grown on grain can also carry a lot of starch from the grain. Ask which part NeurOasis® uses and how it is extracted. FC also supplies a generic Lion’s Mane Mushroom Extract.
Beta-glucan versus “polysaccharides”
Many mushroom extracts are sold on a “polysaccharide” percentage measured by a colour reaction that also counts starch and other sugars. Beta-glucan measured by an enzymatic method is a better guide to mushroom content. Compare offers on the same method. Mushrooms take up heavy metals such as cadmium and lead from their substrate, so ask for heavy metal results on every lot.

- Extraction solvent (water, ethanol or both), extraction ratio and any carrier with its percentage
- Beta-glucan by an enzymatic method (for example the Megazyme method), reported separately from total polysaccharides
- Starch or alpha-glucan (high values point to grain substrate or carrier rather than mushroom)
- Hericenones or erinacines, if specified, with the method
- Loss on drying, heavy metals (lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury) and pesticide residues
- Microbiology: total plate count, yeast and mould, E. coli, Salmonella
- Batch number, manufacture and retest dates
