About Agaricus blazei
OmniMycan® is based on Agaricus blazei, also known as Agaricus subrufescens or the almond mushroom, a relative of the common button mushroom. Its fruiting bodies are rich in beta-glucans, which are the usual basis for comparing extracts. Ask whether the extract is made from fruiting bodies or mycelium, and for beta-glucan measured by an enzymatic method.
Safety points
Agaricus mushrooms naturally contain agaritine, a hydrazine compound, so ask whether it is measured. Mushrooms take up heavy metals such as cadmium and lead from their substrate, so ask for heavy metal results on every lot. Immune-support positioning must stay within the claims allowed in your market.
Blends
Agaricus is often combined with other mushrooms, such as Reishivive® reishi extract, in mushroom complexes. For OmniMycan® specifications, WhatsApp us.

What to ask for on the certificate of analysis
- Species (Latin name) and the part used: fruiting body, mycelium or sclerotium; for mycelium, the growth substrate
- Extraction solvent (water, ethanol or both), extraction ratio and any carrier with its percentage
- Beta-glucan by an enzymatic method (for example the Megazyme method), reported separately from total polysaccharides
- Starch or alpha-glucan (high values point to grain substrate or carrier rather than mushroom)
- Agaritine, if tested
- Loss on drying, heavy metals (lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury) and pesticide residues
- Microbiology: total plate count, yeast and mould, E. coli, Salmonella
- Batch number, manufacture and retest dates
